First Baptist Church is seeking a Ministry Assistant to join our ministry team!
The Ministry Assistant supports FBC’s mission and ministry by providing organizational and professional office support to the Senior Pastor, Ministry Staff, and Ministry Leaders, while maintaining a warm, welcoming, and hospitable front-office presence for church members, guests, and weekday visitors.
We are looking for someone who is organized, dependable, professional, personable, and service-minded—someone who enjoys helping people, communicating clearly, managing details, and using their gifts to help the ministry of the church function effectively.

What You’ll Do
The Ministry Assistant will:
- Provide organizational and office support to the Senior Pastor, Ministry Staff, and Ministry Leaders.
- Serve as a welcoming first point of contact for members, guests, and visitors.
- Manage phone calls, email, correspondence, scheduling, and other office communications.
- Maintain church records, supplies, publications, and ministry materials.
- Assist with Sunday School, worship services, Fellowship Meals, and other church ministries.
- Provide support with financial records and church administrative processes.
- Coordinate with ministry leaders, volunteers, vendors, and church committees.
- Help maintain an orderly, professional, and welcoming church office.
- Learn and utilize FBC’s church management system.
- Handle confidential information with discretion, integrity, and care.
We’re Looking For Someone Who
- Has a heart for serving Christ and supporting the ministry of the local church.
- Is organized and attentive to detail.
- Communicates clearly and professionally.
- Is friendly, welcoming, and comfortable interacting with people.
- Can manage multiple responsibilities and work independently.
- Has experience with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Is comfortable learning new technology and office systems.
- Demonstrates discretion when handling confidential information.
- Is dependable, flexible, and willing to serve wherever needed.
Schedule
30 hours per week
- Monday–Thursday: 8:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m. with a 45-minute lunch
- Friday: 8:30–11:30 a.m.
- Church office closed Friday afternoon
